Local Transportation
TAXI
There are taxi services at all the commercial airports, however, due to the extensive distances, fares are negotiated and you should also expect to pay a round trip fare. Fares can be anywhere from $100 to $300, which is not unreasonable since the fare from Kennedy Airport to New York City is approximately $40 and that distance is only about 20 miles.
CAR SERVICE
Another option is to reserve a car/limousine from a variety of car services which you can find in our Directory. These services usually have a set fee which they will provide you when you make your reservation. One service we like is LI Moon Star limousine & car service who provides a very comfortable ride.
CAR RENTAL
A third option is to rent a car from the airport or from the location where you are starting your trip.
LOCAL BUSES
There is local bus transportation but the schedule intervals are too long if you're in a hurry. The Suffolk County Transit buses serve the following areas:
- S92 - Orient Point Ferry Dock on the North Fork through all the villages from Riverhead to East Hampton.
- 10B - Local: East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Three Mile Harbor, Springs
- 10C - Local: East Hampton, Amagansett, Hither Hills, Montauk Point Lighthouse, Montauk Village, Montauk Dock, Ditch Plains
